Youth and Family Counseling
Adolescents/teens face rapid changes in their development as they evolve out of childhood and begin to navigate the world for themselves in a maturing body and mind. Their responses to new opportunities and threats vary widely, with some kids adjusting easily and others having great difficulty. The process of making decisions for themselves while searching for their identity can be daunting. Psychotherapy offers them a neutral space to find support and work through difficulties. While adolescents/teens can suffer from the full range of mental and behavioral health issues, anxiety and depression are common reasons why they (or caregivers on their behalf) seek therapy. Families adjusting to life with adolescents can find support, guidance and relief through family counseling.
