Anxiety (and OCD)
Anxiety- being excessively worried or fearful- can include restlessness, being “on edge” or feeling irritable. You may be having difficulty concentrating, controlling your emotions, and sleeping. Some people experience episodes of panic, which can be a profoundly frightening, full-body experience. Anxiety is driven by outsized fears or worries that intrude upon or dominate your thinking. It can occur without any apparent cause. Anxious thought may be stimulated in a particular context or situation, like social interaction, work life or the dynamics of your family life. Whatever the cause, the dread or angst you feel is typically out of proportion to the actual challenges you face. There are a range of clinical interventions that can be very effective in treating anxiety.
